Davis Chinese Christian Church (DCCC) is seeking a part-time Youth-English College Pastor at a growing, trilingual church in Davis, California, a quaint, small town of about 60,000 residents. Home of one of California’s largest universities - UC Davis - in Northern California, DCCC is in a prime location, adjacent to the university campus.

There are about 300 people in this trilingual and bicultural church with approximately 100 individuals in the English congregation. The Youth-English College Pastor will collaborate with lay workers to minister to the youth group and English college students. Job Description for DCCC Youth-English College Ministry Pastor

Primary Role:

To minister to the youth group (Rhythm Fellowship) and English College students (Compass Fellowship), and lead them into a dynamic relationship with Christ.

Ministry also includes, not limited to, supporting the other DCCC college ministries, pastors, and other church members, as appropriate.

Reports directly to the Council of Elders. Works with lay co-workers, Pastors and staff members.

Hours: Part time (20 hours) salaried position.


Responsibilities

1. Lead and nurture, in conjunction with lay workers, the spiritual growth of the 6th-12 graders at DCCC (Youth/Rhythm fellowship)

2. Lead and nurture, in conjunction with lay workers, the spiritual growth of DCCC English college students (Compass Fellowship)

3. Develop a clearly defined vision and mission that aligns with the vision and mission of DCCC. Communicate the needs of the youth and English college students to congregations and leaders of the church as appropriate.

4. Select/create curriculum to build continuity in spiritual understanding for youth and college students. Maintain good connection with lay youth group and college leaders and programs

5. Provide leadership and guidance to lay youth and college co-workers. Attends and directs (as needed) weekly, non-routine and special meetings. Address unexpected issues as the needs.

6. Build relationships and maintain communication with DCCC youth parents. Organize parenting classes as needed.

7. Preach at least once a quarter in the English worship service; and other language services as needed.

8. Submit a monthly report to COE.

9. Weekly/regular participation and attendance at DCCC is expected.


Qualifications

1. Must be a spiritually mature Jesus Christ follower and have a lifestyle demonstrating faith and obedience. A proven passion for Youth and College Ministry.

2. College graduate; formal Bible training/seminary graduate a plus.

3. Has a clear calling from God, with a pastoral heart, leadership gifts and teamwork spirit. Ministry experience in Asian/Asian American intercultural churches is a plus.

4. 3-5 years working history within a church environment is preferred.

5. Strong communication, leadership, computer, administration, and organizational skills.
